Goals and Objectives

About Studio 6 Ballroom

Studio 6 Ballroom was created not as an "owner's business" but as the community's place. The main owner, in fact, is a student himself. Craving a place that was comfortable to kick back & enjoy the company of all the new interesting & fun friends he made, he decided something had to be done. As fate would have it, a fabulous space had just opened up on Tacoma's popular 6th Ave known as the "Arts & Entertainment" district. What a dream come true for students & coaches alike!...a fabulous array of restaurants, clubs, live music venues and so much more working as a team to offer more to the community! On top of that, a fabulous landlord & business association very excited to have us!
Side note: If you have visited 6th Ave in the past...better check again...things are always happening, changing & growing!

The instructors at S6 are independent but work as a team to create a fun interactive environment. This gives those who love teaching the freedom to enjoy what they do best...a better result for the students! A common goal is to recreate & advance the dance image in the area...to show the area what partner dance & Dancesport look like on a National, even International, level. To aide in this & offer continuing education to the community of instructors, we were lucky to enlist the aide of Master Coach, National Title Holder, Natasha Thayer to oversee the studio, answer questions and provide coaching to both students & instructors. Natasha has spent many years traveling Nationally & Internationally very successfully competing, performing and as a consultant to other studios. It's no surprise that she would know everyone on "Dancing with the Stars" & have competed against, and or performed with, those who were professionals before they joined the show.

At S6 you will find open & honest information, more than fair pricing, reliable service and quality instruction to suit everyone...yes, everyone & all ages! You will find an atmosphere of cooperation and support among both instructors and students creating a welcoming family feeling...the "Cheers" feeling! It is very important at S6 that everyone is working towards a common goal...a place of support, quality easy instruction, and a fun environment to really enjoy yourself! S6 will reconsider instructors and students alike who do not demonstrate this. We reserve the right to refuse business...especially if it is interfering with everyone's enjoyment or demonstrating a less than professional atmosphere.

S6 is excited to offer art showings to keep things fun & interesting. We are especially excited to offer space to students first & foremost. Additionally, a folder is provided in our lounge, as well as web space, for your business cards/info. Our instructors have all done very well with "word of mouth" & networking...they believe in offering this back to their students! We offer complimentary beverages as well as a  tv with vcr/dvr and performance/competition videos available. We are very excited to have you and strive to make you feel as comfortable as possible in your new venture. Everyone has been there at one time or another...as well as the instructors!
